Restaurant Style Tasty Dal Makhani Recipe

Ingredients
3 servings
3/4 cup black urad dal
2 tsp rajma beans
1/4 cup tomato puree
1 onion chopped
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp homemade garam masala powder
4 tbsp butter
2 tbsp fresh cream
1/4 cup milk
1 green chili chopped (optional)
as needed salt
3/4 tsp cholae powder (optional)
Restaurant Style Tasty Dal Makhani Recipe
Method:
- Soak urad dal along with rajma overnight
- Pressure cook both in a cooker with at least 2.5cups water and a little salt in medium-high flame for about 12 to 14 whistles
- Open and see the cooker for any leftover water. if there is any then let it simmer in the cooker without a lid for some time like 10 mins
- Then add milk and let it simmer with little mashing till creamy
- Meantime on another pan add half of the butter in medium flame add the chili powder, cholae(Gram) powder, and garam masala powder and give it a mix. take care not to burn
- Then add onions and saute till soft and pink
- Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute
- Add the tomato puree and saute till oil starts to separate. switch off stove
- Now add the mixture to the simmering dal mix and let it cook for 5minutes
- Adjust seasoning, add cream, add remaining butter, green chili and switch off the stove
- Serve with hot plain steam rice, roti, onion lemon wedges, and enjoy
