Today is Hindi day. On this occasion, with the opinion of great scholars promoting Hindi, they know where Hindi name comes from. The earliest use of this word for the Hindi language is found in Sharafuddin Yajdi’s ‘Zafarnama’ of 1424. The Hindi word is related to the Sanskrit word Sindhu. ‘Sindhu’ used to be called Sindh River and based on it, the land of India was called Sindhu. This Indus word became ‘Hindu’, Hindi, and then ‘Hind’ under the influence of Iranians.
